So tired.

Do you really know the real meaning of exhaustion before you are a parent? I honestly don't think you do. Having 5 kids I'm pretty certain I finally understand the true meaning of exhaustion. From having a 2 yr old who still doesn't sleep through the night, to having a 13 yr old who breaks his curfew by 2 hours...I..Am...Tired!

My day normally starts at 5:30 for work. I get up, get ready, grab a coffee and am out the door by 6:15. This of course is not including days where I need to clean the milk racks at work (up at 3:30), or the last day of every month where we have to do inventory at work. (up at 2:30) I get to work, put in my 8-8.5 hours, trying to get as much accomplished as I can manage. After work I grab milk or whatever else I need to ensure once I get home I don't have to leave, and begin my long drive home. Once I get home, I grab the kids, usually the older three are out galavanting somewhere and turn up at home when they are ready, so it's usually just the two little boys I need to pick up. I get home, unpack, and start the dinner process. I am lucky enough that at least for the time being my hubby has taken over the majority of the laundry so I am doing only a little bit of that currently. Before dinner, I clean, during making dinner, I clean, and after dinner, I clean.  Then once dinner is cleaned up, the older kids help out now, its a toss up. Some days there is the process of making sure all 5 kids are cleaned and showered, some days the older kids go out to find friends, other days dinner is so late its almost bedtime.

I am tired.

After our very busy weekend, I was tired. There was no chance of sleeping in last weekend, to make sandwiches and snacks, I was up at 6:30 Saturday and 5:45 Sunday. Two full days of being outside in the sun all day and late nights, I was Tired. Have I mentioned I was tired??? So Monday night, Matthias asked to go out and I said ok, but only until 8 tonight because....I was tired! It really didn't give him a lot of time but I thought because of the late nights the last two days it was fair. So 8 rolls around, 8:30, 9, 9:30. 10!! Where is this kid?! He is usually pretty good about being on time, so by now I am starting to worry. So Dave being the dutiful husband he is, goes out to look for our wayward son to make sure he's not laying broken in a ditch somewhere...Nope! He was fine(and now with a super mad dad on his hands). Two streets over playing with friends. His watch battery had died and it hadn't occured to him in the two hour period that perhaps something was wrong with his watch-no that's not true, it occured to him but he was having too much fun to be bothered with it.
That earned him a 'no going out past dinnertime' for 1 day for each half hour he was late, it also killed my dreams of an early bedtime that night.

Did I mention I am tired? There is a end to this I promise.

Tuesday...tuesday I decide I am SO going to bed early. I am getting tired to the point of...'should I drive home?' I am so tired. I go about my day, the kids are pretty good today, I am making dinner and we get a knock on our door. We have been discussing getting some additional home security for some time now and the right deal for us had  just arrived.. This was awesome, so they come and hook everything up, great service, but it took until after 10:30 to get done! Finally getting to bed at 11 and
setting my alarm for 3:30 seemed so wrong.

Did I mention I was tired.

There is a point to this all. You know you are tired when you put your tampon in upside down!!

THAT people is tired!

It is now 9pm. Jeshie has just knocked over my wine glass, breaking it spilling sticky goo everywhere. Dave is out for the evening. I am sooo  done. 9:10, kids are in bed, and so am I!!

See you soon!!

Ps. I should mention that my pee phone works just fine!!
